Dillard University's (DU) computer science and business majors are preparing to change the world with your help. Our students are embarking on two events this year -- the HBCU Battle of the Brains and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Convention.

1. HBCU BATTLE OF THE BRAINS - Thursday, March 12, 2020 – Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Austin, TX

Mission: To promote the talented business and STEM students within the African American community while highlighting the benefits of SXSW, as well as the technology industry, in an engaging and dynamic way.

The 2020 HBCU Battle of the Brains competition will pit teams of students from HBCUs around the country to determine which school is the HBCU Battle of the Brains Champion.

Colleges and universities are encouraged to send their best and brightest team representing various schools (Business, Communications, Engineering, Mathematics, Marketing, Public Policy, Science, Technology, etc…). Teams will be required to provide a comprehensive solution to the designated issue.

2. NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS (NSBE) - March 25- 29, 2020 in San Antonio, TX

The convention demonstrates NSBE's commitment to lead the United States in graduating 10,000 Black engineers annually by 2025.

The Annual Convention showcases Black students and professionals who have a passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), who are high achievers in these fields and are channeling their dedication to advance their communities and society at large. #NSBE45 will attract more than 12,000 aspiring and practicing engineers, educators, representatives of more than 200 academic institutions, government agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
